Freedom

A tree in the wind
Simple and free
Firm in its roots
Bellowing naturally.
I wish to stand
Like thee on my lawn
And untwist my trunk
To stand just as strong.
Planted with precision
Cared for and watered,
My roots need tending
For my leaves mending.
Oh, why is it hard
To keep our chin up?
This tree seems so simple,
Away from the muck.
Stay focused and believe,
Let’s look to this tree
For our lesson in nature,
For us to be free.
